His finance career started with the Westpac Bank, where he held a range of positions in retail banking with roles in both consumer and business lending.

He holds a degree in Economics, as well as post-graduate studies in Banking and Finance. He lectured in financial planning for several years at the Newcastle Graduate School of Business.

In 2004, Andrew founded his own financial planning firm, Robards Wealth Management, which provides advice on savings, loans, investments, and insurance.

In 2011, he founded the OpenDoor Financial Centre to support other financial planning practices through the systems and processes he had developed as a Newcastle financial planner.

Andrew is now licensed through Wealth Today Pty Ltd.

He focuses on the needs of people who find that they have little time to devote to their financial matters and seek to have their dealings managed by an experienced and dependable resource.

Andrew works to implement complex financial plans in a simple and straightforward manner. This is appreciated by his clients who generally come to him by way of introductions from existing clients.

Conscious that too many people receive a complex range of investments which leaves them unable to understand their own financial affairs, Andrew’s promise is to keep it simple.

His advisory services to Sydney and Newcastle clients as a financial adviser include financial planning, investment strategies, savings plans, gearing, investment and funeral bonds, superannuation, income streams, Centrelink, and our ongoing review service.
